Telemark skiing with Matt Higginson (SSE Telemark Club Coach)

Hafjell Norway Dec 5th - 12th 2008

Why not join telemark-skiing.co.uk for a GREAT week of telemark skiing in Hafjell, Norway (20 mins from Lillehammer) from the 5th - 12th December for the fantastic price of APPROX 600GBP.

This includes flights, tranfers to resort, self catering accommodation in a slopeside chalet with sauna and jacuzzi bath, 6 day lift pass and instruction for 4 x 4 hours in the Hafjell Resort PLUS a 3 hours session from my friend, colleague and superb telemark instructor Scott Hammond… this will entail a small additional fee to pay for transport to a nearby resort Kvitfjell which is approx 20 miles away.

All instruction will be on piste and will focus on developing a firm foundation of skills for you to enjoy the rest of the season wherever you go. For those who have never skied in Norway before it is very different to skiing in Central Europe and it is nearly always possible to find fresh tracks in the trees lining the pistes if you wish to put your new skills to the test.

Temperatures in resort aren’t much colder than anywhere else you might have skied and if you obey the three layer rule and ensure you have suitable covering for face and eyes as well as apply suncream on a regular basis you are unlikely to have any particular problems (the coldest temp last year was approx minus 15*C).

There is plenty of ski touring to be had in and around the Lillehammer area so you are more than welcome to use any of the days to go exploring on your own or with others provided you take the necessary safety equipment with you and know how to use it… however my qualification does not allow me to coach telemark skiing off piste.

***BTW the lift pass enables you to ski at a number of other local ski slopes within a 35 mile radius.

Single supplements!!! The accommodation has three rooms one of which has 1 bunk bed which would be suitable for someone wishing a greater deal of privacy during their trip. The supplement for this room is approx. 120GBP.

Please be aware that the price is based upon the the cost of scheduled flights which means that they are subject to change - therefore early booking is recommended to guarantee the above quoted prices.

The only additional costs upon arrival will be your food and drink in resort.

The trip itself is underwritten by Norwegian Wood Travel who have extensive experience of skiing in the Lillehammer area and helped me organise a GREAT trip last year (Feedback). Why not visit their site and check out the photos of the resort and the accommodation?

If I can be of any further help please do not hesitate to give me a ring?
