About
Matt Higginson is a Crew Manager on Blue Watch at Lichfield Fire Station (Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service) and was a qualified A&E nurse for over 10 years (BN Glasgow 1996) working alongside Aonach Mor Ski Patrol and Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team in 1998 – 1999.
www.telemark-skiing.co.uk was established whilst Matt was living in Lichfield, Staffordshire (UK) where he skied regularly at the Snowdome, Tamworth and the SnoZone, Xscape, Castleford and taught telemark skiing at The Ackers, Birmingham and Stoke Ski Centre, Stoke on Trent. Matt played a key role in the Snowsport England Telemark Development Committee between 2007 - 2011 and in establishing the Snowsport England Telemark Skiing Club – now known as the Midland Telemark Ski Club.
Matt is a BASI level 2 Telemark Skiing Instructor (May 2010), was Snowsport Englands’ (SSE) Telemark Development Officer between (2007 – 2011) and the organiser of the Midlands Telemark Festival and Northern Telemark Event (both of which have run since 2007 – til present). Matt is actively involved with promoting Telemark Skiing within the Royal Air Force (RAF) along with ex GB Telemark team member Pat Mitchell.
www.telemark-skiing.co.uk has recently relocated to Bridgend, South Wales – we will still be providing the same excellent service from our new base which has an improved workshop and storage area.
